During a ball held at a country house,a body is found in curious circumstances. In a high tower room,which has been locked from the inside, the dead body of a man has been discovered,stabbed in the neck with a chisel.It seems to be a case of suicide at first,but when some rather unsavory facts begin to come out,the case becomes less straight-forward.
'The Hunt Ball Mystery' is very much a book of it's time (the early 1900's) in so far that for today's reader it is written in a rather out-of-date manner. We are introduced to a number of stock characters such as the plucky heroine,the honourable hero and no less than two malevolent villains,both of whom are intent on evil designs upon the heroine.… (mehr)
