(ARC was provided to read and review, thanks to the publisher and Edelweiss.)

I love the "Spot the" series books, as they offer on every page a lot of search-the-hidden-object/animal fun. Usually there are at least five different things to find on every page and there's also always a hidden pink baby snail to search. Sometimes questions point out even more to look for and hopefully find, like where do you think the ants' nest is?
The search is fun, because some items are more easy to find, others are quite challenging and need a closer look and the book will certainly engage the young reader for quite a while. Generally there's so much to see on every page and the illustrations are vivid and colourful and put a smile on your face. Children will love them.

There are also interesting facts to learn, like "How do cats and dogs sweat or why are worms important in a garden?"
The last page offers suggestions for more activities connected with the book. Children will learn how to build a hotel for bugs or how to make special popcorn for birds and more.

Overall Spot the Snail in the Garden offers a lot to see and do for young children. My son is four and he had a lot of fun, but as the objects are sometimes quite small and well hidden, I wouldn't set the age group much younger than that. Preferably preschoolers and primary school kids will enjoy the book the most.

The book offers on every page a lot of search-the-hidden-object/animal fun. Usually there are five different things to find on every page and there's also always a hidden monkey to search. Sometimes questions point out even more to look for and hopefully find, like can you find three pairs of matching frogs?

There are also interesting facts to learn, like "Why do African explorers never wear dark blue or black clothes?"
The last page offers suggestions for more activities connected with the book. Create a 3 D jungle poster or play the Animal Guessing Game and more.

This is such an engaging rendition, with the text and illustrations harmonizing happily, I decided to own it. I understand that Philpot has more illustrations for the extended story, and I want them too.
