A fascinating book from the SS Board of the SBC. This was part of their Training Union curriculum put out through the 40's and 50's. This one is about how to plan, stage, and execute church revivals, as well as the reasons why you would want to do this.

This book is almost as good a look as you can find into the pragmatic world of the SBC following WWII and the many methods used by baptists. It covers what kind of music, what instruments are best (piano btw) and how to do the invitation, making sure to use the power of psychology, persuasion, and guilt. A quick read, and great as a history book. Terrible as a manual for today.… (mehr)
