Unbelievably, the pages of this book were untouched by me (unlike the Scientific American airplane book). Perhaps it's worth something. And, yes, I was a Peter Max fam as a kid.

Really cool paperback from 1971 by pop artist Peter Max. You'd be crazy to cut this book up, but that's the original intention. Op art or pop art, I'll leave it to those of you who know about such things. This is a small, modest artifact of that era. Nothing spectacular about it,though, I think the cover is the best part. All in all, a groovy book.

I just recently acquired this book (it arrived in yesterday's mail), and I couldn't be happier.

If I were practical, I would take the book apart and put the pages in plastic sleeves so that it was easy to read. However, I cannot bring myself to do that at this point, so instead, I carefully hold the book open (not too wide, thank you), and tilt my head as needed to read the text.

I've also (so far) transcribed the "Rose Beret" pattern. Based on the transcription I did, the directions appeared to be clear, readable, and without error.

In addition to the patterns, Peter Max offers his insights into colors in a brief, but very informative couple of sentences.

Peter Max's book is an excellent introduction to crochet and covers all sorts of details including blocking, finishing, and guidelines for combining colors.

If you can find a copy and don't mind spending the money, it is a nice addition to your crochet library.
