This is a lovely story about a girl who sees some swans on a nature outing and dreams of helping them. The watercolor illustrations are soft and tranquil in shades of dark blues, greens, and purples and convey the peaceful, reflective story. While there is text for the "waking" part of the story, the girl's dream after she returns home is told through images alone. This picture book has no text. It's about a determined toddler who didn't want to be left out for Christmas. The illustrations are light and wintery. This book would be great for Christmas time and to show the children how hard they have to work to get what they want.
