Rezensionen

I finished Taming Blackhawk last night, and boy was I ever pleased! It was a brisk and sensual love story featuring a modern working girl and her cowboy lover, Rand Blackhawk. The family secrets of Rand were wrapped up quickly and tidily, and gave the book a little more gravitas. I was a bit disappointed that the heroine was a virgin, and felt her life would be incomplete without a husband and a "passel" of children. However, I forgive the book for those characteristics for this is a romance novel not a post-modern feminist theory text book. (Hmmm, I suppose, as a feminist, I would say that it is okay for a woman to chose to want to have a family.)… (mehr)

I sadly saw some similarities between me and my alleged half-sister. Loved it otherwise.

Silly story. The premise of her being a healer is fanciful and would have been good, but the characters personalities were not "fleshed out" enough. D.J.'s actions did not fit with the person he was supposed to be. And what was up with the drums etc.? Was that ever explained. Not a keeper.

Just another wonderful book by this incredible author. An incredible ending to the Ashton series but a sensitive, powerful and emotional love story. I've only read two books in this series.....and Barbara's contribution was the perfect ending.

Book Summary from the cover:

Some prices are too high to pay... Unfortunately, millionaire Trace Ashton had discovered this cold truth the hard way when his fiance had accepted a one-hundred-thousand-dollar buy off.

The betrayal had left Trace a bitter, vengeful man. So when Becca Marshall dared to return to Napa Valley and the social circles he enjoyed, Trace plotted his fiery revenge. But even as he seduced Becca, Trace realized she was keeping secrets. Her modest lifestyle belied her acceptance of an Ashton buy off.

Was she innocent of the deceptions Trace had believed for so long...and would his quest for the truth cost him more than he was willing to pay?
