Safely Endangered Comics von Chris McCoy
This is a funny comic with absurd humour. Reading this made me start following the author's webcomic. Recommended if you like comics that are dark, weird and witty.
Children's fiction/adventure-humor. The cover is rather goofy and almost off-putting, but it's a funny story that kids would probably like if given the chance. Despite the gimmicky/misguided Hollywood movie feel (teenager Ted's imaginary friend is real and refuses to leave him?), the writing's decent. My one beef about it, apart from the bad cover (realistically illustrated covers are SO over), is that the head boss bad guy barely makes an appearance at the end of the story, perhaps a last-minute addition to make room for a sequel.… (mehr)
My favorite part of this book is the variety of humor it can convey on the page. It is mostly situational humor, but there is also physical comedy and witty phrasing. These seem like the kind of thing to share to all the people on Facebook, which I'm sure is where many of them originally live.
I would recommend this book to people who need some dark humor to make the bad days seem lighter. It was worth the Hoopla Download, and I will be on the lookout for more books by this author!
