Michael B. McElroy (1) (1939–)

Harvard Professor McElroy provides an overview of energy history, use, and environmental consequences. There are fourteen "lectures", which start at a fairly basic level, comparable to high school science course information without the mathematics, formulae, and calculations. The concluding lectures describe the problems faced today, and an energy view of the future. The book provides an informative description of the issues of the day, without going into excessive technical details.

Michael McElroy provides and excellent analysis of the global warming situation. He provides sufficient background information, explains the potential affects of the increase in greenhouse gases, and provides an update on the status of progress in reacting to the problem (albeit written in 2002). I strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in global warming, which should be everyone.
