Rezensionen

All You Have to do is Ask Santa, by Matthew Faist:
A sweet story about a small, well-behaved boy who only wants his military Daddy to come home for Christmas. Poignant and moving.

Nikki's Hope, by Lisa Messier
Lightning fast romance and blazing hot kisses (among other things) make this spicy short a must-read! It's the stuff fantasies are made of!

A Southern Christmas Love, by T. M. Lazar
The thing about this story that really riled me up was the cheating. I really can't stand it! I wish there were more guys like Spencer in the world.

Wrapped up in You, by Kennedy Kelly

This story is sort of the black sheep of the anthology. Don't get me wrong, it's a good story, but the crass language used here sets it apart from the other stories. Also, there are some very distracting editing/format issues, like missing letters and weird spacing. All in all, that knocks it back to 3.5 stars.

Married for Christmas, by Salice Rodgers
Classic romance story. Very sweet. Boy meets girl, boy spills mocha on girl, and boy asks girl to marry him, saving him from the clutches of the evil hag.

Trish's Gift, by Angie Merriam
A hot Irishman, and a beautiful realtor, what could go wrong? Nothing, until Ronin tells Trish something she doesn't want to hear...

Vital, by Xavier Neal
God I love the Senses series! This is a prequel, which gives you a little more insight into the intense friendship of Logan and Maxx. It was nice to revisit those characters.

This is a perfect book of fantasy and adult romance.

When I first started reading this book I couldn't imagine how much I would love it and how much magic it would bring. It's easy to read, and yet so well written, so magical. I'll try not to get too excited and I'll write things carefully... I don't want to spoil it, but if I don't stop for a moment to think about it that's what will happen.

In the beginning it was a little bit of a slow reading, but not in a bad way. I guess I was only giving myself time to get to know the main characters better. But after Lilly find the note from her mother I read it fast not only because I'm on vacations and I have more free time, but also because it really is a good book that made me want to know more.

You can read beautiful descriptions that made everything real; when I imagined it, I almost could feel those were places where I traveled to before. Places so beautiful I wish I could be there!
It was impossible not to feel some familiarity.

Lilly was raised by her mother and we can read about their beautiful relationship right in the beginning of the book. They live on a trailer and for neighbors they have Shep and his family. Shep is Lilly's best-friend-almost-like-brother since they were little kids, but something really special is going to happen between them on this story.

Everything in the book is so magic. I love the way Lilly is in touch with nature, and there's a moment when she refers to the place she lives and the people she knows as a "little paradise" - I agree with her and understand the meaning it has to her.

But something changes their lives, not only Lilly's and her mom's, but also Shep's and his family's. What happens after that is happy and sad at the same time. Lilly's mom writes her a note that leads her to Neveah, a parallel world unknown by the Ordinaries. In a climate of war, revenge and fear you can read, at the same time, about beautiful creatures, amazing abilities, beautiful love. Some scenes make you smile, other scenes are infuriating, other scenes are sad. This book has the light and the darkness.

Lilly is there to find secrets that have been kept from her all of this time; secrets about her family, her origins. The adventure begins and she is not alone. She will find people and creatures that are willing to help her along her way.

And when you think all of the secrets have been told, you couldn't be more wrong. It's surprising up until the very ending.

Ah, the ending... what can I say?! I wasn't expecting that. It's that kind of perfect (not necessarily happy or sad) ending that opens a door for a second book. The type of ending that makes the reader hungry for more.
