Stephen Paul Meszaros (1945–2020)

An excellent book for it’s time (and still is today) but its lack of color makes you want more. The book is a tremendous source of visual information on the solar system and its members. The book makes you look at the planets and moons in a much different way by comparing one body to another. Today we are a little spoiled by having great color images from the Hubble Telescope and the vast armada of space probes, but back in the beginning high resolution color was only a dream. Although the book lacks the full color of today’s space images, it still relays the wonder of the universe. I found this book to be something truly different than all of the rest of the astronomy books out there and I still do.… (mehr)
