Sesame always knows the right thing to say, and the best way to teach it. The book is not overly preachy, uses great examples, and is short and memorable.
Aimed at young children, this explains deployment of a military parent. It acknowledges the tough feelings a child may experience from the separation, things they can do and ways they can be helpful during this time, and how to keep in touch with their parent. Children can also look forward to doing something special to welcome their parent home. Straightforward and concrete, allowing for plenty of dialogic conversation between parent and child.
