Dazzle was playing hide-and-seek with her best friend Skipper when she heard the news of the Sports Day at the Butterfly Meadow. All the creatures were allowed to participate and Dazzle was excited to pick something. But what? She wasn’t a fast flier or an elegant dancer. As her friends, Skipper, Mallow, Twinkle, and Stripe, decide to partake in a relay race, Dazzle has to find something to do, and fast! The event was happening today. As the event starts, Dazzle, unable to join any of the events, decides to cheer on her friends. However, right before the relay race, Mallow is hurt and Dazzle has to take her place. Can Dazzle do it and win for the team?

This is an easy chapter book for young readers. The pace of the story is moderate, filled with dialogs that describe the moments. The illustrations are simple and show the readers what the butterflies look like. By looking at the drawings, the readers can tell that butterflies come in different sizes and color. The edges of the pages are also decorated with flowers, making the Butterfly Meadow seem closer. Also, at the end of the book, there is a short fun fact page about butterflies. If the readers become interested in butterflies after reading the book, it will give them a lead on what to find next.… (mehr)
