Born in 1970, Charlotte Moundlic is the Artistic Director of Père Castor, éditions Flammarion. Her first book for children was published in 2007. Since then, she has written over twenty-five books for children. She is the mother of two daughters and lives in Lilas, France.

Poor Myron. He doesn't like his name. He's going into third grade and hasn't lost a tooth yet. And now he has to spend his summer away from his beloved mother. Luckily, what starts as the worst vacation ever, eventually turns into the best vacation ever.

This is a sweet story for shy, sensitive types. The title made me think it would be funny, but it's actually entirely earnest.

This book explains the loss of his mom and the perspective of what he's going through. He's worried he'll forget everything about his mom and has a lot of emotions about it. This lets children know it's okay to express their feelings especially when dealing with a death.

Ronnie is stuck going on vacation with his grandparents and cousins without his mom for the first time. Fortunately, his older brother isn't there; unfortunately, the older cousins who hang out with his brother and hassle him are. There's definitely a (much less jerkish) Wimpy Kid vibe to this older-kid picture book, divided into the days of the vacation and Ronnie's abortive attempts to write a letter to his mom. As one expects, this vacation turns out to be better than Ronnie expects, though with some highs and lows and highjinks.… (mehr)

This is a good book to explain the loss of someone through the eyes of a child. Although a heavy topic, the child will be able to feel the pain that the main character goes through
