I think if it didn't have my heart in a squeezed fist the entire time, I would have given it a higher rating!! Needed tissues. The author did a good job of really portraying some of the phases of grief and also that each person reacts differently. Great summary of a true journey of a marriage, the highs and the lows. I don't know why I had selected it - whether a friend had read it, but it was on my kindle for awhile. Great book if you like ones that take you on an emotional journey.

I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. Andrew and Corrine have a great life. They have two kids, a comfortable home and each other. Unfortunately Andrew is a workaholic and feels that this is the only way for them to have all that they do. All she wanted was some family time and he couldn’t give it to her. He comes home one evening to find her car missing and the kids asleep, where did she go?

Paul and Melanie Tull have three kids. Paul seems bent on always knowing where Melanie is. Because he constantly checks up on her, she feels like she doesn’t live up to his standards. Unlike Andrew, Paul is home on time every night. He makes up fantastic bedtime stories for the kids about “Princess Elsa”, but afterwards locks himself away in the study. He doesn’t really have a relationship with his wife because of this.

This book was amazing. I was captivated from the very first page. I loved the way each chapter was from a different point of view. You could connect with the each character emotionally, and I really enjoyed that. This was a great dark novel with a unique, unexpected twist. This is a great read, one that is hard to put down and will keep you up late at night.

I dowloaded the trilogy last night because the synopsis sounded really good! While some parts are funny, I'm not a fan of the cussing or drinking. (Please note: this was never advertised as a "clean read" or anything.)

Now that I've read it, the plot itself is good, a little weak in my opinion, but it has potential. Catherine is young, single, and desperate to hang on to a piece of her childhood. Many people wouldn't think twice about calling her "nuts," but the thing is, she's sentimental for the right reasons: she lost someone she loved as a young child and it followed her into adulthood. This piece of her childhood is one of her last connections to this dead person. If she doesn't get it back, it's like losing her all over again.

Would I read it again? Probably not. But I enjoyed the few laughs!

Good plot, but it's an awful lot of language (F bombs, etc). I'm hoping that the final book of the series will be better, but I won't stake my life on it.
