As is typical with books issued by the park service, Appomattox Court House is beyond dry. I gave it 4 stars, however, because it did offer the best, most concise information possible, which was what I was looking for. However, if you are looking for more of a novel/history account that is the more popular style these days, look somewhere else.

The significance of the 1905 Wright Flyer III by Peter L. Jakab, Curator, Aeronautics Div., National Air and Space Museum

This is a wonderful book which records passed down oral history of various tribes primarily concerning the period of the Civil war. It covers those who participated in the war on either side in the East such as the Cherokee, Choctaw and other tribes as well as the massacres in the West and the forced removals largely ignored because of the war. Many of the stories have been passed down in oral traditions and are recorded for posteriety.

Overall a good, informative, well written read.
