Who is there among us who cannot be said to be curious about the pharaohs of Egypt? If you are, then you must be aware of the missing tombs of the most famous or nefarious ones. Cleopatra, Alexander the Great, the Third Intermediate ones, Herihor, the Amarna royals, Amenhotep, and Imhotep the commoner who became a god. It’s all here in Naunton’s readable and engaging book which is written, not in coffee table style but in the newsworthy style of what archaeologists know and speculate.

This book is a recent release (November 27, if I’m remembering correctly), and once I had it, I was super excited to read this. It definitely DID NOT disappoint me. Naunton brings up a lot of good points and discussion topics that I’d like to look into more once I have a bit more time to focus on that.
I definitely recommend this for anyone’s TBR list.
Second Review So upon reading this book for a second time, as with any reread, I was a noticing things I hadn’t caught during my initial read of the book. I still thoroughly enjoyed the read, and Naunton poses an interesting point at the end of the book: the question of whether or not these tombs - along with others - will ever be found… (mehr)
