This is an interesting book about an usual woman . Who turns away the things that mean the most to her due to her cold exteria and for the love of her family estate, Sleet. Living at Sleet she came to terms with the emotional and physical solitude of her life. She destracts herself with farming and tending to the needs of the estate which become a substute for human companionship. She gives up the hope of having a normal relationship/marriage with her bahamian husband frances although through out his life he seeks what she doesn't wish to give him - which is a shame as she really is the love of his life. However she becomes closer to Frances after his death as she learns of his love for her - this really is a unsual love story and really provokes your thoughts. The setting is very haunting although i wish i could of connected more with the smaller charaters, such as Leon.… (mehr)
