One day while Amber is working her job at an upscale boutique, famous celebrity stylist Mona stops by. The visit itself wasn’t a surprise but everything that came after would be.

Mona’s assistant has suddenly quit and left her high and dry for awards season.
And Amber has made a happy accident with styling her store window this morning. Mona thinks that Amber has an eye for fashion.
The next thing you know, Amber has accepted a whirlwind job offer from Mona.
She will be her new assistant for awards season.

Definitely a fun story. Wish fulfillment territory right?
To one day be working your day job and the next to be flying away to another country just to help all the biggest celebrities prepare for awards season.

Of course things go off the rail. It becomes obvious pretty quickly why Mona can’t hold onto an assistant. She’s a bit of a mess. She’s pretty kooky, she’s only nice about half the time and she can’t be relied on to actually pay her employee.

I didn’t really like Amber. She’s a bit of a mess herself. She’s drunk through hall the book, while constantly judging Mona for drinking too much and she’s never dressed right for anything ever. She also keeps forgetting to eat, bathe or sleep.

As for Mona, I kept expecting her to get redemption. I don’t think she’s a bad person. She has no grip on her life and career though and it’s hurting everyone around her.

I thought I’d love this but I needed to like the characters more.
