I loved this book even more than the first one! I fell in love with Ndoto the 40 year old Land Rover, and am inspired by these stories to see much more of Africa. There are more diverse emotional situations -- joy, wonder, sorrow, anguish -- that give this book heart and soul. I highly recommend this book.

A very enjoyable book in which the author describes her crossing of the African continent with her husband. The story is written in a witty, humorous, impassioned, unpretentious, moving, sensitive way. Sometimes I found the actions and reactions of the protagonists a little naive (not that there's anything wrong with that - apart from the fact that at certain times it could have cost them their lives). Minor glitches: incorrect spellings of Ceuta ('Cueta') and Tuareg ('Taureg' / 'Tauareg').
