John N. Ott

Jon Ott's interest in time-lapse photography led him to investigate the effects of natural and artificial light first on plant growth then on animals and human beings. He was led to the conclusion that people's health is directly affected by the spectrum of the artificial light by which they work, and especially that of fluorescent light. This has become increasingly relevant as we are encouraged or directed to save electricity by using low-energy light bulbs.
