It´s a history of Portugal from the point of view of a journalist. You wont find a deep analysis of the facts. It is a personal narrative from a british journalist who had movedd to Portugal from London when he was 50 and loves Portugal. Some passages are really appealing. Easy to read.

Sometimes the only way to cope with the horror of war is to make fun of it. These songs are examples of how the Allied Troops in WWII coped.

Deve ser lido como um trabalho de jornalismo romanceado, e não como fruto de pesquisa científica aprofundada. Como tal, trata-se de um belíssimo relato da história de um país, focado sobre os seus pontos altos, as suas conquistas e feitos. Faltou espaço para análise e crítica, mas essa fica para quem ler o livro e o quiser confrontar com a realidade.

Em setembro colocarei análise alongada no blog.
