A beautiful resort, a dusty lighthouse, ghosts, and second chances are what you'll find as you follow Ashley and Christopher on their journey in this captivating story. The opening drops you right into the story, and the juxtaposition between everything is striking. Although the lighthouse is right by the resort, it's circumstances, and Ashley's, are much different than the state of the resort, and her estranged husband Christopher. I really enjoyed getting to know both of them over the course of the book, they had a lot of depth, and felt like real people. The story itself is engaging, the interpersonal relationships, the mystery, all of it. Everything moves along at a slow pace, and it's so easy to lose yourself in the book, hours will pass by while you're reading before you know it. Cannot recommend enough for anyone who enjoys sweet, cozy romances with a hint of mystery!… (mehr)

This would make a great beach read or a fun rainy summer afternoon escape. I found the story to be interesting and move along well. I often find myself reading along in a romance silently yelling at the characters to just talk to each other and move along with the story but I was pleasantly surprised when I didn't get that feeling here. The plot moved along at a great pace and there was enough action to keep a reader interested. I really enjoyed this time on a Montana ranch!

I’ll admit, I had mixed feelings about this novel. Stephanie comes across as rigid from the get-go, which made bonding to her character difficult for me. I did love that Stephanie is one of those teachers that it’s clear she was born to teach. You love to see it and I wish we had more teachers like her in the world.

I have a thing about age differences regardless of gender, so the fact that there is a pretty substantial age gap between the hero and heroine bothered me quite a bit the entire time I read. The old jokes did not help and were grating, to say the least, but I could be sensitive to them since I’m in Ted’s age range.

The tense parts were some of my favorite moments. There is plenty of rigidity between Stephanie and the helicopter mom from hades, Candace Vane. Every time I saw her name on the page, I got the ick. I’ve dealt with her type in my time, and I can tell you have zero patience for any person that puts their own needs above others or uses her power for evil and selfish reasons. Then there is the apex of the story which is a very climatic moment and the perfect way to lead to the flaws, self-reflection, and the heart of the story.

Overall, the story is cute enough, but it fell flat for me. I didn’t feel like I connected with Stephanie whatsoever, despite her sweet nature and clear passion for students and teaching, and my favorite part of the whole story was sweet, little Maddie and Hank, the wise, matchmaking Kincaid patriarch. If the age gap wasn’t part of the story, I think this would have helped this novel go from good to great.

*I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher through LibraryThing Early Reviewers. All views and opinions expressed are completely honest, and my own.

I enjoyed this book, it starts out with Ashley trying to fake a haunting to get her estranged husband to leave. After her father died his will states that whoever stays in the Inn for thirty straight days gets the inn. Things begin to get stranger and it makes you wonder if ghosts do exist. Plus someone is out to get Christopher and Ashley. A good read.
