This is an absolutely beautiful book, with glowing reproductions and a generous format. It's also a fascinating guide to a little-known part of the New York art scene -- the murals that bedeck many of our public (and some of our private) buildings. As a native, I grew up with the murals in the Museum of Natural History, and have seen several of the others -- most notably, while on jury duty! But there are lots that I did not know about, and lots of new and illuminating information on the ones I do know. This book is going on my 2015 Christmas list for a few other NYC devotees, and a list of the murals is going on my kitchen wall -- I want to see every one!… (mehr)
