I had to try to get through this one four times. It was a Goodreads Giveaway, which I take very seriously. By winning that lottery I feel obligated to read the book fully and give my honest feedback. This book put that to the test.

Candles of Rejuvenescence is an interesting concept poorly executed. It feels rushed, relying on too much summary, telling, and exposition and not enough of anything else. The characters are just basic templates. I don't feel it is much more helpful to go into all the specific aspects that were lacking.

Still, the book was not offensively bad. It had interesting concepts and themes, but all the little problems just added up to too much.… (mehr)
