I adore this book because of its simple story and vivid illustrations. The story is very simple to follow. I love how the author includes many different African animals and keeps things as accurate as possible. I also appreciate how the author points out facts about the elephant, like how they have an excellent memory. The best part of the book though are the illustrations. The bright, colorful pages really bring the story to life for me. The illustrations depict the animals as almost lifelike and are very close to what the animals actually look like, as opposed to making them more child friendly as some books do. My favorite illustration is the page with all the birds coming to Mr. Wrinkles rescue. The colors jump off the page and really draw the eye in. I would suggest this book to anyone and everyone. The main themes in this book are friendship and teamwork. Mr. Wrinkles would not have received the help he needed if he weren't friends with everyone. The book also depicts team work. All of the animals had to pitch in to help get Mr. Wrinkles out of the hole, no matter how small the creatures. This could be used to teach a lesson on teamwork.… (mehr)
