*I got this book for the publisher for my honest thoughts*

I really enjoyed this book. I really enjoyed that this book had a a male lead and also love the mash up for genres for this book. I was def more invested in the first part of the book then the end part of the book. The end of the book got a tad confusing and became a bit hard to follow. But I still found the book to super compelling to read. I loved the way this book was structure also through the passing of time and the various map that acted as a ways to break down the book. I through the way this book was structure was a highlight as long as the male lead as well!… (mehr)

Well time loop stories are often quite repetitive.

Well time loop stories are often quite repetitive.

This was entertaining but a bit too long. I thought the confusion was really well captured as the main characters struggled to make sense of what was happening as they replayed the same scenes again and again. I’m not a big fan of sci-fi, but this was ok. If the story was supposed to confuse the reader, like Lake, then it was well written. Never could tell when she was in the Sim, or not. I had a feeling she was stuck, hiding...hiding from what, leaves me to wonder.

This was my first Syfy book with a VR theme. I enjoyed this story it kept me engaged and entertained. The author did a good job with the world-building. Through the use of vivid imagery, the details came to life for me. The plot was intriguing, great concepts. I do wish they had been fleshed out a bit more, there was a lot left off the table. It doesn't detract from the story, I just think that there was untapped potential. The story was well written and the flow is sound. I would recommend it to anyone who likes post-apocalyptic stories but wants something a little less intense than the norm. Also, I really liked the cover.… (mehr)
