Great for 2nd-3rd graders :) A book that inspires Black and brown children to see the beauty that comes with being a person of color. I believe this book is a great way to introduce and celebrate diversity. It also help students of color embrace their uniqueness.
This book was a great read! This book is a great for children that are trying to learn how to accept their unique and individual differences. This book addresses an African American little girl, who does not understand why her hair is unlike the other kids hair in the classroom. At the end of the book, she finally realizes that she is unique and different , and it is okay to stand out and not be like everyone else! I will most definitely be reading this book to my classroom that is made up of mostly African American little girls.… (mehr)
