I am completely biased. The book after all is dedicated to moi! It's very hard to be objective about my Andy Warhol moment in the limelight. So - I challenge you to find anything NOT to like about this book. It is positively infectious with its warm wit, extremely clever designs and above all love for all who knit, all who supply knitters with their fix and all who just like to watch what comes out of my fabulous friend's head next!! Inspiring, delightful, stunning, rich - be prepared for all those words and more to hit the headlines very soon when this book is released 20 March in Australia. If you want to delve further into the mind of the author Loani Prior check out her blog at http://www.grandpurlbaa.blogspot.com/. Celebrate the friendship of knitting and buy one for your best friend and or your Mum or Aunty or sister or daughter or sensitive new age bloke.… (mehr)

It would be a heinous sin to refer to this as a coffee-table book for obvious reasons.....but I am very proud to have this dsiplayed prominently on my coffee-table...

and okay - I am completely biased being the author's very old friend from way back BUT....

I do have to say that I think this book is an improvement on the first book (Wild Tea Cosies - smacks forehead - who came up with that boring title ????) ...and that is saying a lot...because the first book was pretty splendiferous.

Why is this one so much better? Well, Loani, apart from being unbelievably clever and creative, has a wonderful eye for colour and a great sense of humour which is reflected in her writing. She doesn't take herself too seriously at all and encourages you to take great leaps with your knitting and catapults the 'umble tea cosy to magnificent heights.

Her work is supported admirably by the genius of her new publishing team whose design and technical support is to be commended. Layout and explanations are better than ever. I think there is a new maturity to the collection here too and lots of cultural references....the discovery of Cubism's early influences are truly startling....who would have thought???? So not only can you serve your tea in style, you can have a bit of a poncy chat about art at the same time....

For goodness sake think before you drink...your next cup of tea....do you have a respectable tea cosy?...is your pot aching to be covered in whimsy? Have you got a stash of wool somewhere that really should be recycled or an old moth eaten jumper? Turn it into Sleeveless in Seattle (see, I told you she had a sense of humour). My personal favourite is the Primitive.

For more information go to www.grandpurlbaa.com. And yes, I have the tour t-shirt....see ....friends in high places.....what would we do without them????

Ah well, let me first fess up and say that Loani and I go a long way back....a long way....she was my bridesmaid...my only bridesmaid...so I'm a bit biased. This book reminds me how deeply satisfying knitting can be and how clever and creative Loani can be ! Wanna find out more ? Go to her blog www.grandpurlbaa.com
