Great pictures and a surprisingly well-written text make for a real page-turner. Lots of lists of greatest this and that will certainly cause disagreement. These aren't the author's lists, however, so I won't blame him. But whoever named Johnny Ramone the 20th greatest guitarist must have been stoned at the time. The Ramones were great, of course, but if you are rating a guitarist on his ability to play the guitar, Ramone is nowhere near the top 100 or top 1000. On one of their best songs, the drummer had to play the hard guitar part! This book leans toward rock'n'roll and blues guitar, but there are also pictures and stories about classical and other types of guitars and their players for the last few hundred years.… (mehr)
