Note that the first half of the 156 pages of text (with many photos and illustrations interspersed within the text) is a summary of action on the Peninsula from the beginning of the war, prior to the siege. God background, but this is not a micro history of the siege but rather an overview. The deepest detail is on the April 16 action at Dam No. 1.
