This was okay. It didn't add anything new to the genre, and the plot moved fairly slowly. I might pick up the next book to see what happens next, but its pretty far down on my priority list. This book focuses heavily on characters in the military, and I honestly had a hard time differentiating between them, because they all had very little personality. It made the book hard to relate to.

The last installment in the Morningstar Strain trilogy quenched my need for a fulfilling ending to the series. Despite the author's passing before the book was finished and having to hire a ghost writer to finish the series, I felt like the pace of the story and action sequences were consistent with the first two books. There were a couple plot decisions that made me question the author's choices and the ending was a tad predictable. However, it was the military shoot 'em up, ask questions later, full throttle zombie apocalypse I loved from the first two books. The story switched points of view as the survivors helped Stiles (the immune) and Anna (the Doctor) work towards a cure. Sawyer was back as the villian using all the forces he could muster to grab the cure for his own needs. A must read for fans of the first two books.… (mehr)
