Bob can't fly yet but he tries and tries and tries and still can't do it. His frustration draws the attention of a crow who helps Bob calm down with mindful deep breathing. Bob still needs more practice flying but "Sometimes you just have to be grounded before you can fly." This title canbe shared with kids who are easily frustrated or to reinforce mindfulness practice with young children. It can also be part of SEL curriculum.
Fun book for the younger kids. Great read for story time.

Chee-Kee: A Panda in Bearland is a well illustrated book about the struggles of being "different" in a new land. In the book, Chee-Kee and his family arrive in Bearland and find that they are the only pandas. The natives are curious about their differences and Chee-Kee has no idea about the culture there. Some of the things in Bearland, he has never even seen before. Because of this, Chee-Kee doesn't feel comfortable in Bearland and misses his home. Until one day, as some of the other bears are playing, Chee-Kee finds a way to use his own culture to save the day. The bears are happy and they become fast friends. The book teaches a very positive lesson that no matter where a person comes from, you can appreciate each others differences and even teach each other a few things.… (mehr)
