this is a really important book- primarily because there are TONS of books about how fantastic breastfeeding is but hardly any about/for women who cannot. it's obviously a very heated and emotional issue and i appreciate the fact that this book is out there to speak for those women. the pro-breastfeeding books often read like propaganda- fanatically cheerful and extreme as they try to persuade readers to breastfeed and they rarely mention the problems and negative side to nursing. i believe this causes many women to be disillusioned- not to mention to feel like complete failures as women and mothers when the unexpected difficulties arise. i also think that expectant moms deserve a less condescending, more comprehensive, honest discussion of this complex issue.… (mehr)
