Etienne's story is similar in some ways to Baseema's. However, he was conscripted as a child by rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo and was forced to do things that left him with PTSD and major guilt. Another excellent book in this series. I'm especially impressed by how it doesn't sugar coat the darker moments in medicine. medical/drug trial risks, the history of the vaccines cause autism myth and what happened to Thalidomide babies are among the entries here. It also gives readers plenty about medicine's successes and where the field is headed. A good pick for STEM collections.

It doesn't mince words about the efforts by foreign countries to disrupt US elections, either. A good book in a good series for public and school libraries… (mehr)
