Rezensionen

This is quite average in pretty much every department that matters to me except length - the audiobook is merely 3:17 running time. The characters are your run-of-the-mill secret government hard-arses, a pilot turned alien-takeover-vehicle, outdoorsy tough woman, smallish chip-on-his-shoulder smart guy - you get the idea it’s cliche all over the white-carpeted Antarctica.
The plot is nothing new and adds nothing to that which has been with us since the year of the Lord of AD 1938, John W. Campbell Jr. would certainly attest to that. Be that as it may, I believe that readers who cannot get enough of Who goes there / The Thing knockoffs will be able to enjoy this - I suspect that John W. Campbell or John Carpenter would not.… (mehr)

A nice little addition to anyone fond of Lovecraft inspired stories

This was a great read, especially for a .99 cent ebook. It’s a series of short stories about, as the title says, Cthulhu, if he resided off the coast of Keyport NJ.

I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the homage. Each short story had its own tone, from children’s story (yes, you read that right) to steampunk, to something in the realm of hard boiled detective with a hint of Burroughs.

I have to be honest, though and mention that I felt the main story (the meat of the collection and maybe long enough to be considered a novella) felt incomplete. I was hoping for a more solid end to that one before I was thrown into the next chapter, which wasn’t a chapter but a new short story.

As a whole, though this collection of Cthulhu inspired stories was a fun read.

A little less good than the first. This is like reading popcorn. Its tasty and bad for you, but amusing and easy to gobble.

The author, Armand set a goal for himself to visit a Dunkin Doughnuts every day for 31 days...the rules being he could never duplicate his order and he was to try and chat to strangers and hear their stories. As this self-proclaimed hermit begins his journey, he finds out it is going to be a lot harder than he thought to reach out to people. As the story continues his wife joins him on their road trips to his book signings and together, they visit many Dunkin Doughnuts. Armand begins to enjoy getting out of the house and he realizes writing this book has become an insightful look at his own life.

I won this book from Armand Rossamilia because I am a Little Free Library steward. He is a wonderful supporter of the Little Free Libraries! Thank you Thank you! I can't wait to put it in my library!

Read this book and enjoy his journey....Oh and have a coffee in hand!
