When cooking shows were in their infancy, I used to like to watch Rosengarten on TV. I quickly snached up the book when it was published. I was judging the book by it's cover, though... (It's elegant and I felt special owning it.) But was disappointed when I've tried a lobster dish (not even sure now whether it was aired on the program, or if it is in the book), which was made with epensive ingredients but the flavors didn't intermingle well.That was the first and last of his recipes I've tried out.… (mehr)
Lamb Tangine with Butternut Squash, Dried Apricots, and Almonds, p. 247. Too much work for ordinary results. OTOH, the squash, apricot and honey preparation is a satisfyingly sweet side dish worth repeating.
