I don't have kids and don't have to consider the family dinner hour. But I like Rosenstrach's writing style and many of her recipes, especially the riffs/options for all. Have adapted her ideas to communal cooking with friends.
There are a lot of interesting recipes in this book ! I look forward to trying some of them!
I am not a vegetarian and have no intention of becoming one. However, I do enjoy a wide variety of vegetables. I hoped this cookbook would provide me with various recipes I could use to prepare vegetables. Unfortunately, many of the recipes require spices and other ingredients I do not stock. As a result, I found almost no recipes I intend to try.
I would not recommend this book for someone new to vegetarian cooking. However, I think someone experienced in vegetarian cooking could find numerous interesting recipes. For that reason, I’m giving this book four stars.… (mehr)

I probably would have rated this 3.5, but having just read "The Homemade Pantry" before it, this book is much more realistic. The author recounts over a decade of homemade meals, acknowledging the busyness of working and parenting and trying to create healthy, appealing dinners every night.
