Andrea B. Rugh

Middle East Institute's Adjunct Scholar Dr. Andrea B. Rugh has recently published an exciting new book titled Christians in Egypt, a timely work that documents Christian responses to growing sectarianism in Egyptian society. Based on five years of intensive research at a social service center catering to poor Christians in Cairo, the book uses both a historical and anthropological approach to examine how local Christian communities work to maintain and improve their minority status.
