Inked Temptation ticked all the boxes for a successful romance novel - it's not a romantic comedy but a mending-of-broken hearts novel.
As much as I enjoyed the escapism of it, I found it a little hackneyed - the grief stricken grumpy hunk, and the angry grumpy hunk, in cabins they've escaped to in the woods, testing their loving families as they try to navigate forward.
I'm not belittling the heartbreak - it touched me deeply - but particularly when it came to the last third, the novel was too predictable, with an incomplete, flat ending.
The storytelling set the scene for major sparks between the MCs but the writing didn't capitalise on the potential - I kept feeling manipulated by the formulaic way it was rushed and under-developed.… (mehr)
