Let me start off by saying, I could't even finish this book...life is way too short. I made it 32% of the way, according to my beloved Kindle.

I love historical fiction, when it is written well. An author cannot simply toss in some well know historical characters and expect them to play nicely. It was painful to see great Samuel Clemens and the infamous James and Younger gang pop up completely randomly. I definitely didn't think "oh wow, what if they really did cross paths!"

Next, incorrectly using the word "y'all" completely derails a reader. "y'all" is obviously plural, it is a conjunction for You All, and as such cannot be used (over and over again) when addressing an individual.

Finally, I felt nothing for either of these women. I had no idea what they even looked like!

I am a book lover, and I feel that I am quite open minded and love the adventure that an author takes me on. I wish I could get the few hours of my life that I spent reading this back, along with my money. Harsh, I know. But this book definitely needs to go through another editor.… (mehr)
