Summary:

This book was about the exciting life of a basketball superstar that was rasied in the poor section of Washington, DC., he never forgot his roots. He found many ways to give back to his community and to help those who were less fortunate. This book also showed how African Americans living in poverty had just as much of a chance to be successful as anyone that lived in the rich areas did.

Personal Reaction:

This book was very heart warming, it made me think about all kids that grew up in poor sections of the world. They can still make it, if they have the will to do so.

Classroom Extension:

I would use this book in my class for the instruction of, it does no matter where you are from and what you have, you can still be successful in life.… (mehr)
