This was not my favorite book just because it was not extremely engaging in my opinion. It told the story of a life cycle in a interesting way because it shifted from crab, to bird, to people and then switches between each of them and what they are doing. This could be a good book to use when teaching a unit on what a life cycle is. I could use this book at the beginning of a unit or I could use this once we've started learning about what a life cycle is and the kids could answer questions about what part of the life cycle is happening.… (mehr)

High Tide For Horseshoe Crabs is an informational picture book that begins with a diagram of the horseshoe crab anatomy with explanations of what each body part does. This book describes the annual spawning of horseshoe crabs arriving on the Delaware Bay. This story explains the events the horseshoe crabs encounter with various kinds of animals when arriving on the shore at high tide.
