In 1955, he founded the Reformed Church in America in Garden Grove, California. As a televangelist, he tried to integrate the teachings of John Calvin with the positive thinking of Norman Vincent Peale. After becoming one of the nation's best-known pastors, he watched Crystal Cathedral Ministries file for bankruptcy in 2010 amid huge debt, a changing religious broadcast industry, an aging audience, and family squabbles over leadership. During his lifetime, he wrote over thirty books including Turning Hurts Into Halos; Tough Times Don't Last, but Tough People Do; and If It's Going to Be, It's Up to Me. He received numerous awards including the Horatio Alger Award, Freedom Foundation Awards, Clergyman of the Year, Awards of Excellence for Religion in Media, and Peacemaker Awards. He was also known for his four decades of televised Sunday services, Hour of Power. He died from esophageal cancer on April 2, 2015 at the age of 88. (Bowker Author Biography) weniger anzeigen

Just like the title says Move Ahead With Possibility Thinking helps get a better outlook on life not with positive thinking but possibility thinking. It is what Robert H Schuller sold his whole life as a pastor at Garden Grove Community Church. Using Jesus as his ultimate possibility thinker the book is full of examples of people who ignore impossibility thinkers and achieve great things.

The premise of this book is that if you do not love yourself then you are missing out on a lot of happiness in many areas of your life. Robert A Schuller does show you how to build a better self love. This is a religious book and Schuller incorporates prayer, Jesus and God to help you make this change.

Do you find happiness elusive? Perhaps the difficulty is in your expectation. Do problems continually crop up in your life?

Doctor Schuller suggests that the Beatitudes portion of the Sermon on the Mount has the answers you seek. And, in this book, he discusses the eight universal positive principles for living effectively. Here readers will find eight positive mental attitudes that make true happiness really possible for everyone . . . .

The focus of each chapter, showing the practical differences these attitudes can make in our lives, offers usable suggestions readers can easily adapt for their own lives. These chapters include:

“I need help – I can’t do it alone.”
“I’m really hurting – but I’m going to bounce back.”
“I’m going to remain cool, calm, and corrected.”
“I really want to do the right thing!”
“I’m going to treat others the way I want others to treat me.”
“I’ve got to let the faith flow free through me.”
“I’m going to be a bridge builder.”
“I can choose to be happy – anyway.”

Why not choose happiness?
