- Kurzbiographie
- While studying classical Hebrew, Schwartz was drawn to modern Hebrew poetry. In 1906, he published a translation of a poem by Chaim Nachman Bialik. He migrated to New York, and became a successful translator of Hebrew poetry. Associated with Di Yunge (The Young Ones), his attachment to classical Jewish motifs and themes led him to break from those radically secular poets. With his wife and daughter, he moved to Kentucky in 1918 and started a large business. In 1925, he published a 260-page epic poem Kentucky, which immediately became a great success. http://www.yiddishbookcenter.org/node/385
