Über den Autor

Acclaimed adventure writer and explorer Tim Severin was born in 1940 and educated at Tonbridge School and Oxford University. He has made a career of retracing the storied journeys of mythical and historical figures in replica vessels. These experiences have been turned into a body of captivating mehr anzeigen and illuminating books, including The Brendan Voyage, In Search of Genghis Khan, Crusader, The Jason Voyage, and In Search of Moby Dick. The Spice Islands Voyage: The Quest for the Man Who… von Tim Severin

As ever Tim Severin brings to life historical sea journeys with his replica journeys. Indonesia is unknown to many but Tim's book provides a good glimpse of the countries, their people and the wildlife. An interesting outline of Alfred Wallace's life.

Maybe rating this only 2 stars is a bit harsh, but honestly I never really got along with this book. It was interesting read, but just felt dry and was a struggle to finish.
