30 months - Another thrift store find. Add some cookie monster voice and this book is pretty fun. I wouldn't say it's the best of the ABC books but for kids who like Sesame Street it will be a hit.

I somewhat enjoyed this book. It was not my favorite due to all the words all over the page. It was sort of hard to follow in a way but the rhymes were cute and catchy. One point in the story she went to the zoo and they saw a kangaroo. They talked about how the baby kangaroos are called Joeys. Then they created rhyme using the word Joey. the illustrations were cute and helped me decipher what was going on.
The overall goal of the book is to use rhymes.

I thought this book was great! It was really engaging and introduces rhyming in a great way: "Rhymes are so fun to find! I know--let's find some rhymes together." This immediately has the reader searching for things that rhyme in the book, and opens the door to finding rhyming words in your own life. I know when I was a kid I loved coming up with my own rhymes and making up words to do so, so I would have just eaten this book up if it had had it. I like that it incorporates Spanish, as well, and shows some words that rhyme in Spanish, such as la repuesta, la cesta, and una siesta. I thought this was a great way to acknowledge the growing number of children who speak Spanish as a first language in this country. The big idea is essentially to teach children about rhyming and how easy it is to look for it in your life, which is displayed through Abby just walking around the town finding things that rhyme, and even inventing things that rhyme for her spells, since she is a fairy.… (mehr)
