Cory Lambert (Jeremy Renner) is a veteran tracker working on the reservation, visiting his ex-wife and his son occasionally, keeping predators from predating on stock. He isn't native but he's part of the reservation and accepted by the community. On a hunt he finds the body of his friend's daughter, barefooted in the show and he informs the local police chief. As it's on a reservation the FBI have to take part and Jane Banner (Elizabeth Olson) a rookie FBI agent is sent. She's really unprepared for the terrible weather and the situation and things only get more complicated as another body is found.
