A thing of beauty. As a child in the 1970s, living in the US, motels when were a thing of wonder. I wanted to stay at every one we went past. Pool! Cold drinks machines!! Color TV!!! We didn't have things like that in the UK.

As the years have gone past, the allure of the motel has declined and its become, at least in my imagination, more the haunt of the needy and the desperate. This book is a great reminder of the golden age of the motel, as it applied to Las Vegas. Few of them are left but thanks to these photographs, the memory lives on. Highly recommended… (mehr)
