An angsty, dark story about shifters. The story revolves around Rowdie a werejaguar and a visit from Tristan a former lover, and Roddie the son Rowdie never knew he had.
Tristan is a werecougar and tries to convince Rowdie to return home. But a terrible misunderstanding stands between them and Rowdie is very bitter and hardened. Roddie, the very young werejaguar son, tries to convince his father to return also.
Roddie was the most adorable character in this story. So innocent, naive and full of hope.
The story had lots of angst and Tristan did a lot of groveling, but I think he needs to do more considering what happened.
I'm really surprised that Rowdie agreed to return home so suddenly at the end of the story since he was full of bitterness toward Tristan when the two arrived. It sort of didn't ring very true to me since he was so hurt and angry. I think it was only because of Roddie that Rowdie returned home. The sudden decision to return home is the one part I had trouble with believing in this story. Other than that it was good.

No frigging way I am reading this. And they say PL Nunn is bad. At least the woman can write!
I did manage to survive another 10%, totaling 60%, just for the pleasure of giving it 1 star (applying the good old rounding up rule).

Eighteen months ago, I was a fat, nasty, legally blind, computer programmer who decided to try his chubby hand at industrial espionage.
Is it just me who feels a little uncomfortable, reading this part? You, know... me being "fat and chubby" and "legally blind" computer geek... Interesting how nasty it sounds in this sentence, especially being put together with "nasty" - he-he ~:/ Clear as day, the author herself has some major issues with self-image..... Is this what the book is all about? Unless ...politically incorrect much? *snicker*
During which time he reshaped my body; fixed my vision and broke me psychologically into three pieces.
Read "continuously raped" instead "reshaped"; "forced" instead of "fixed" (oh, don't get me wrong, there WAS a choice - be a vampire and a vampire's sex toy or be brain-dead and a vampire's sex toy); "broke me..." that one is true, considering all the abuse and mindf*ck that's going on.
No respect for English language, either. Grammar, spelling, punctuation... - you name it, it's all subject to abuse as well.
