William Spratling (1)

I never could figure out the purpose of the book - he seems to be traveling endlessly and without reason. He says where he is going but not why and nothing ever seems to get accomplished but the various travels. Along the way, he describes people and places but in a rather disconnected way (at least to me). He never explains who he is or why he is there or what he is doing other than moving endlessly. I read it all in one afternoon. I can not recommend it but am glad to have it since it was Spratling who wrote it and illustrated it and Diego Rivera who wrote the foreword.… (mehr)
